My veil!!!
I have to rave about the promptness & professionalism from Occansey Designs/Veils. I ordered my veil from them last week and received it on my doorstep yesterday! :) Not only that, but I was able to communicate with the owner, Kathy, about what veil she thought would compliment my dress. I probably emailed her back & forth 4 times before I felt comfortable with the length. I really enjoyed and appreciated her taking the time out to help me find the perfect veil. On top of the professionalism, the price factor was sweeeet! This is definitely the budget brides veil BFF.
Well, we all know I wanted a drop veil. I was a little nervous about it-esp. after my Bridesmaid Lynette said something about the shorter ones looking like ‘mosquito nets’-but I launched forward and purchased my drop veil!
{Warning! Before you see pictures note that I look a H.A.M. = Hot A*s Mess!}
Here she is:

I ordered a 75″ drop veil & that included tips on how to get wrinkles out, hat pins (to hold the veil in place) and even a coupon code for a future purchase (or a bride-friend).
Now the cool thing with Drop veils is I can basically adjust the front or the back to make it as long or short as I desire. How cool, right? I didn’t want the veil too long that it overpowered my dress and I didn’t want it too short so that it looked like I was trying repel mosquito’s (lol)!
The funny thing is, I asked Mister Mr. if he wanted to see the veil & he said {adamantly}
“Nope! I want to be surprised all-around!” How cute!
I LOVE the veil and actually started ::giggling:: when I put it on. I can’t wait until Christmas when mommy & I get pictures of everything together.

I promise & I shall deliver…

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009
Yes. I know. Over a week ago I promised a recap of my bridal shower weekend.

Well-ahem- I will be delivering on that; but it’s NOT my fault. Blame my MOH K for slacking on sending her pictures to me.
Sure, she just bought a house & whatnot…but, whatever. LMAO!
(That was my failed attempt at being a ‘zilla)

Any who, here are a few pictures from the weekend to wet your palette & keep you intrigued!

(Me-in the middle, sitting- with 5 of my bridal party members)

Stay patient, people…the full recap is coming! :)

"I’m so excited…I’m so excited…"

Monday, November 30th, 2009
I’m feeling a little Jessie Spano!
“I’m so excited & I just can’t hide it!”

Okay, enough showing my age! :)

My bridal shower weekend officially kicks of in 3 days! WOOT WOOT! I can’t wait to see my girls, laugh, drink, eat and…well…have a blast!

On Friday one of my Bridesmaids and I are going to visit a Brazilian spa & then off to {I think} a reggae club that night. I’m usually not into Reggae, but I’ll give it a whirl. Friday night my mommy flies in & we’ll get her situated in our bridal suite!

Saturday kicks off the actual festivities, with the shower being held at Java Vino in Atlanta. SO excited about this. Isn’t this place adorable?

Can you believe that this building (not the actual coffee & wine shop, but the building where they hold private parties) used to be the owners home? Incredible, right?

Saturday night we’re hitting the streets of ATL and partying it up VIP style!

Sunday, I think…we’re having a casual brunch before everyone goes their own way!

I cannot WAIT. I finally found a dress (it wasn’t the one I posted about) for the shower; now I just need to finalize my bachelorette party dress.

When is your bridal shower?

We’re in the DOUBLE digits!

Friday, November 27th, 2009
I usually save my countdown posts until the 5th of each month, but I’m so excited we’re finally in the double digits! Whew!
As of today…we have 98-friggin-days until the big day.

Eeegads!!

Excited & yet, surprisingly, calm. Just ready to be Mrs. T and be DONE with logistics! LOL

Loungin’ around!

Friday, November 27th, 2009
For a while, I have dreamed of having a lounge area at the wedding. Nothing too fancy, nothing too over the top…but, rather, something our family & friends can use during the cocktail hour & reception to sit back and relax! However, I had been a little discouraged by the prices of lounge furniture, backdrops, etc.

That is until Mister Mr. and I put our collective heads together and discovered we CAN have my dream lounge! Yay~! ::giddy::

Last week I was inspired by these pictures of a gorgeous wedding that was held at our venue where they created their own lounge area! Check it out:

Cute, right? Well, we’ve figured out how to recreate this to fit our theme AND stay within budget! Here’s how:

  • We’ve purchased an incredibly inexpensive ($20) B&W damask back-drop!
  • We’ll hang the back-drop up using hidden suction cups (or something similar)!
  • We’ve found a comfy love-seat/sofa for $20 on Craigslist and will cover it with a white slip-cover!
  • We’re going to lay down an inexpensive rug from Wal-Mart

Voila! I’ll have my dream lounge! Who says you have to pay big $$$ for a lounge area?

SOOOOO excited!

Can’t wait to see it in action!
