Mommy Dearest

Friday, January 1st, 2010

Whew! It seems as though I am sick just about every week, with some kind of cold. I need to go to the doctor and get this looked at, because it’s not normal. Anyway, I was able to take a break one day and I strolled in a place to look at some merchandise.

The overall purpose of this trip included several things, headpieces and mother’s dresses. So this first post is of a couple of mother’s dresses, that I found and feel would look great on my beautiful mommy. She loves dark colors and to the dresses are darker colors. One is Chestnut and the other is Truffle. The 3rd dress is a 2 piece with a white top (that wraps) and a black long skirt.

I would prefer for my other to wear a short skirt instead of long, so hopefully I can talk her into it. Since the wedding isn’t too formal, I’m not sure if these styles are appropriate; that is one thing I will need to discuss with her, but check out the pictures below and tell me what you think.

Dancing With The Stars is back!

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

Last night was GREAT because “Dancing with the Stars” is finally back! The season premiere which aired last night was bigger than ever with 16 contestants hoping for the coveted Mirrorball trophy. Season 9’s first week’s competition is split into two parts. Last night the men competed against one another and tonight the women will show off their stuff.

After Monday’s competition it seems like Aaron Carter and dance partner Karina Smirnoff took the lead and very close behind them was Donny Osmond with his beautiful Aussie partner Kym Johnson. And to his credit, Donny was quite the performer. Not surprisingly, he had tons of female fans in the audience.

Tied for last place was NFL hall of famer Michael Irvin and Ashley Hamilton (son of the “tan man” (and former “DWTS” competitor George). While voters typically respond to against-the-odds stories like Ashley’s recovery from a devastating motorcycle accident, it’s hard to tell if that’ll be enough to save the younger Hamilton from being eliminated this week. I wanted him to do better but he needs a lot of work! Michael Irvin had the same point total, but “DWTS” voters love their sports stars. Good luck guys!!

Bronzed Beauties Of The Week

So this week was a little tough to choose just one bronzed beauty. There were so many sexy celebs showing some skin that we couldn’t decide between Carmen Electra and Britney Spears. Britney looks better than ever in this hot bikini and her new toned bod and of course Carmen always looks amazing…check them out! Who is your favorite?

I promise & I shall deliver…

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009
Yes. I know. Over a week ago I promised a recap of my bridal shower weekend.

Well-ahem- I will be delivering on that; but it’s NOT my fault. Blame my MOH K for slacking on sending her pictures to me.
Sure, she just bought a house & whatnot…but, whatever. LMAO!
(That was my failed attempt at being a ‘zilla)

Any who, here are a few pictures from the weekend to wet your palette & keep you intrigued!

(Me-in the middle, sitting- with 5 of my bridal party members)

Stay patient, people…the full recap is coming! :)

Let’s Get it On!

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009
The dress, that is.

After I chilled out with my BFF and had something to eat, it was already time to get dressed. WHERE WAS THE TIME GOING? So fast, so fast. It all goes by so fast.

I was worried about getting into my dress as it was going to have to go on over my head. Compared to my hips, my waist is small, so there was no way I was going to be able to shimmy my ass into the dress by stepping in. Trust me, I’d tried several times at my fittings! However, I decided to give it a go anyway since I could not see how my little 5′2″ MOH was going to put the dress over my 5′10″ head without a comedy of errors ensuing.

My effort was proof positive that I’d lost weight that week. I was actually afraid as I’d put weight on the week before that! I think my nerves and all the craziness just melted a few pounds off. My dress was just a teeny bit big. This wasn’t an issue until later (the chicken cutlets were involved).

Here’s my MOH locking me in!

One of the detail shots that JCP got really surprised me. I was using a jewelry bag that my MOH gave me as a gift when I was her MOH. They had it hand-embroidered with my initials. How lovely, no?

Once I had my dress on and my dad showed up, we got the veil on and I was ready to go! I had already done my MOH’s make-up and fluffed her hair so were we all set!

I’d like it to be known that the look on my face at this very moment is one I am glad not to have on film. I think I was freaking out looking at myself in the mirror with the dress and veil and all. I know it sounds weird, but as long as I wasn’t looking at myself, I was doing A-OK in terms of my nerves. I started avoiding mirrors whenever possible.
I love that Pops is carrying my shrug!
